Ngành Ấu (Sói Con)

Ngành Ấu được thành lập vào năm 1916. Trong những lần các Thiếu sinh đi sinh hoạt, BP nhận thấy có các em nhỏ đi theo anh mình. Các em rất lấy làm thích thú trong các trò chơi, sinh hoạt Hướng Ðạo. BP liền thành lập thêm một ngành cho các em lứa tuổi từ 7 đến 10. Trong ngành Ấu các em chưa phải là Hướng Ðạo sinh, các em là những người đang tập sống theo đời sống của Hướng Ðạo.

Ấu sinh nam còn được gọi là Sói con, bởi vì các em sinh hoạt theo câu chuyện Rừng Xanh (The Jungle Book) của Rudyard Kipling, kể về đời sống cậu bé Mowgli với một bầy sói có tổ chức được dẫn dắt bởi một sói già cô độc Akela, và có sự giúp đỡ của một số nhân vật rừng giàu kinh nghiệm.

Sói con chưa phải biết Luật và Lời Hứa Hướng Ðạo. Nhưng Sói con có Luật và Cách Ngôn Rừng và Lời Hứa của Sói con để giúp các em trở thành những em bé ngoan trong gia đình và ngoài xã hội và nhất là chuẩn bị cho mình một số hành trang để đi vào nếp sống Hướng Ðạo.

Introduction to Cub Scouting

The Cub Scouts program provides an engaging and age-appropriate introduction to Scouting for young children, typically between the ages of 6 and 11. It was created to welcome younger boys and girls who are eager to explore, learn, and grow through fun activities, games, and teamwork. Cub Scouts gives children the opportunity to join in Scouting adventures that are designed just for their age group.

In the Cub Scouts, youth are not yet full Scouts but are learning the fundamentals of Scouting values and skills while having fun in a supportive group. The program emphasizes character development, community involvement, and personal achievement.

Cub Scouts often learn through themes, stories, and activities that inspire imagination and learning. They work toward age-appropriate achievements and badges that help them build confidence, learn new skills, and develop a sense of responsibility.

  • Cub Scouting is a program for Kindergarteners to 5th graders (Age 6 - 11).

  • Your child will have fun interacting with other youth their age, and be able to learn social skills as well as cultural values for being a productive future citizen of society. Cub Scouts also have a taste of the outdoor skills that are learned in the older Boy Scout program.

  • The scouting journey doesn’t stop the moment our meeting ends, but it continues at home. Your facilitation with the at-home activities can ensure your child is able to foster a greater love for our program.

  • First, visit one of our weekly meetings and have your child join as a trial run to see if they like the program. Next, fill out a BSA Youth Application and LDRK permission slip and pay the application fee.
